Introduced in 1967 the Mercury Cougar was made to be a step between the Mustang and Thunderbird with its mature styling and emphasis on luxury as well as performance. The Cougar’s overall sleek styling and its variety of V8 engine choices was an immediate draw for many consumers and it quickly became an integral part of the Mercury lineup as well as part of automotive history. The GT and XR-7 packages were widely popular and were available in two-door hardtop and two-door convertible by 1969. Through the following years the Cougar was constantly redesigned and phased out entirely by 2002. While often seen as the twin of the Mustang in its early years, the Cougar made a name for itself as a unique vehicle for many classic car enthusiasts. At ACP we are proud to carry many quality parts with OE correct fit and look for your Mercury Cougar.
